Overview
The music can be either upbeat or worshipful, but it is always performed and arranged magnificently. Every singer in the one-hundred-some group is a soloist in his or her own right. Gaither puts them all together and they become dynamite chorus!
This album recreates those old-camp-meetin' days most authentically. One can almost envision the presence of humble farmers and respected bankers sitting side-by-side, clapping their hands and feet in time with the music, and the old and very young in the group enjoying their time together. No generation gaps in those days.
Listen to them now, singing out the songs Old Camp Meeting Days and The Old Country Church on the stage in the Wesley Convention Center in Fairmount, Indiana. The countrified Indiana folks packed the place to the gills! And they were an enthusiastic crowd. It's easy to understand why!
